Anthony recently added an addition to his Upper Marlboro, MD home. The addition sat over a previously undeveloped area of the yard, leaving the floor joist exposed to the outside temperatures which affected the temperature inside. Timm called Complete Home Solutions to discuss his insulation options. After going over the options with on of our Home Comfort Specials, he decided the best option for this spot in his home was to use our 2 part closed cell spray foam. The pray foam will create a solid thermal barrier between the outside of his home and the conditioned inside space.

This Upper Marlboro homeowner called in saying that they were worried that their crawl space insulation and vapor barrier was dated and in desperate need of an upgrade. Our Home Comfort Specialist, James, went out to their home to investigate and find out how we could help. After a thorough inspection, James confirmed their fears that the insulation was in need of an upgrade along with a new vapor barrier. Next, our Home Comfort Technicians, lead by Alfredo, dive into the crawl and begin removing the old insulation and vapor barrier. Once removed, we install the new 20 millimeter vapor barrier in order to block moisture from rising into the conditioned space. We follow that up with installing a dehumidifier, this way, we can allow air to constantly move and not sit still causing mold issues. The final step is to spray foam the exterior walls of the crawl space. The spray foam will act as an insulator and block any moisture that will eventually seep through the foundation.
The happy homeowner loved the look of their new crawl and loved seeing their energy bill go down even more!
Scott's home in Brandywine, MD had a crawl space that was in rough shape. This was leading to comfort problems throughout the year as well as moisture-related issues from the humidity in the summer months. Scott's first choice was the right choice when he called Complete Home Solutions to address the problem. after a full evaluation of the home, our Home Comfort Specialist recommended a Crawl Space Encapsulation. On the day of the encapsulation, our Home Comfort Technicians began by removing the old vapor barrier and insulation from the crawl space., this provided an empty area to begin the transformation. They then installed our Clean space vapor barrier which when bolted to the walls of the crawl space creates a seal that prevents any moisture or pest from entering the crawl from below. Following the installation of the vapor barrier, our Technicians used a 2 part closed cell spray foam to insulate and seal the walls. This process restricts any air from coming through the vents or cinder blocks in the crawl. The final step of this encapsulation is to install a dehumidifier that regulates the humidity to a consistent 50-55%.. Scott has all ready noticed a difference in mild weather and can't wait to see how the improvements help this winter.

Amy's home had an addition added to it several years ago and was insulated underneath by old fiberglass batt insulation. After several summers, the boards covering the insulation had begun to fall out and the insulation was damaged by the moisture. Due to the wet and falling insulation, the room above began to experience more humid temperatures in the summer and colder temperatures in the winter, and after yet another cold winter Amy had had enough and called Complete Home Solutions to assess the situation. After examining the area, our Home Comfort Specialist recommended spray foaming the floor joist to create a solid insulated barrier underneath the home that would keep the outside elements and temperatures from affecting inside the home. Our Home Comfort Technicians did another fantastic job, and Amy was able to notice a difference immediately on the colder mornings.
