This homeowner called Complete Home Solutions after noticing that his one story home was getting harder to keep comfortable during the hottest points of the summer and colder points of winter. Following a inspection from one of our Home Comfort Specialist it was determined that the root cause of his issues was the crawl space. This crawl had open vents, a messy vapor barrier, and very little insulation. Our Specialist recommended a Crawl Space encapsulation to fix this issue, and our Home Comfort Technicians took care of the rest. On the day of the job our technicians began by removing the old vapor barrier from the ground of the crawl. They then put down a new CleanSpace vapor barrier that would prevent any ground moisture and humidity from entering the home from the ground. Our Technicians also take the extra step of bolting the vapor barrier to the wall to ensure that no moisture or unwarted pest can find its way in. The next step was to spray foam the walls and all of the open vents. this full seals in the crawl space from the outside elements while also insulating the crawl space. the final step was installing a dehumidifier to that keep the humidity at at perfect range of 50-55%. The Homeowner immediately noticed a difference in the temperature of the home and is resting comfortably.

This homeowner in Owings, MD called our office to take a look at their room over the garage and recommend energy efficient improvements. One of the items on our job scope was to install 2" of closed cell spray foam insulation on hatch doors. This air seals and insulates the doorway. The spray foam is a superior insulation with an R value of 6.3 per inch. This helped greatly to insulate the knee walls from the finished room over the garage!
This homeowner from Pasadena, Maryland was experiencing high energy bills and discomfort from the finished room over their garage (which is a common issue found with spaces like this). They contacted Complete Home Solutions to see if we could help them.
We sent out our team who determined that air leakage and lack of insulation were preventing this area from becoming comfortable. Our home comfort specialist recommended that the knee-wall areas be insulated and sprayed 3" of closed cell foam insulation. This allowed the room to become a more livable area and significantly reduced the homeowner's energy bill!
This homeowner wanted to remove their old insulation and upgrade to spray foam insulation.
While an unfinished basement may seem like a tough place to keep properly insulated, there are steps you can take to keep humid summer air, or cold winter air out. This homeowner in Owings, MD called Complete Home Solutions to see what some of his options were for his unfinished basement. Following a visit from one of our Home Comfort Specialist, it was recommended to remove the old batt insulation from the rim joist, which was allowing air to creep in and out of the basement, and replace it with spray foam to create a solid 3 inch barrier. The homeowner noticed an immediate difference, and now feels comfortable storing any item in his basement regardless of the temperature or humidity outside.
