For years, the homeowners of this house in Upper Marlboro, Maryland suffered from drafts in their home during the winter. they called our company, Complete Home Solutions to find the source of the problem. Our Auditor determined that they needed additional insulation in the attic. We recommended having additional cellulose insulation added to make their home more energy efficient and comfortable. When installed properly, loose-fill cellulose insulation improves the energy efficiency of a home and can help lower utility bills. Cellulose insulation is the product we recommend since it is made from recycled, shredded newsprint and boxes that have been chemically treated for fire and mold resistance.
These customers are thrilled with their installation and feel more comfortable already. They are looking forward to a more comfortable home this summer and feel that they are more prepared for winter.

Lynne had been experiencing uncomfortable temperatures in her Upper Marlboro, MD home since moving in several years ago. She received one of our direct mail pieces which informed her that her attic condition could be a primary source for the uncomfortable temperatures, and gave us a call. Following an inspection from one of our Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the insulation level was well below current standards, and no air sealing to speak of, that this was a primary source for air leakage and uncomfortable temperatures throughout the rest of the house. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort technicians began by moving the old insulation to properly air seal the attic, which prevents conditioned air from escaping the living space of your home. We use our fire block foam the seal top plates, recessed lights, drywall seams, and attic hatches to make sure there are no spots for air to escape. The next step was to blow in new cellulose insulation to make sure the attic was properly insulated to 18inches all the way around.
Lynne noticed an immediate difference following the upgrades, and can't wait to see the drop in her energy usage, from the improvements made.

We found that the knee wall area in this house was causing it to loose a lot of energy. It was not insulated or air sealed, allowing for a lot of air to leak through. We could solve that by insulating it and installing our polysio foam board. Fixing this one spot will save this homeowner a lot of money.
