Attic Air Sealing in Odenton, MD

High utility bills and low home comfort were the two main problems that this homeowner was facing, especially in the winter and summer months. She couldn't seem to figure out why their house got this way, so she called an expert to investigate.

Our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home and did a thorough evaluation. The main issue that he found was the attic. A lack of air sealing and insulation was causing this home to lose much of its conditioned air and consequently raising the utility bill every month. Our solution to her was to air seal the attic (using a mixture of SilverGlo foam board, caulk and spray foam and then insulate with blown in cellulose. The problems that this homeowner were facing are now a thing of the past!

We sent out out one of our Home Comfort Specialists, who determined that air sealing and more insulation in the home's attic would be just what this house needed. We went ahead and provided those solutions for the client, using blown in cellulose for the insulation. The difference that these changes have made has been astronomical! So happy we could help this homeowner become comfortable in their home!

Attic Insulation in Odenton, MD

Nicholas called Complete Home solutions after another year of uncomfortable conditions in certain areas of his Odenton, MD home. In the winter months, he struggles to keep it warm, and in the hot summer months, the upstairs is unbearable.  Following a Home Energy Audit, conducted by one of our trained Home Comfort Specialist, it was determined that the condition of the home's attic was the main culprit in the home's uncomfortable home. On the day of the job, our Home Comfort Technicians began air sealing the attic with fire block spray foam.  The spray foam is applied to our recessed light covers, top plates, and any outlets in the attic to ensure that the air you pay to heat or cool stays in the living space of your home. The next step in this attic was to vent the bath fans out through the roof. If your fans are not vented properly, it can create moisture issues in your attic. The final step of this attic project was to blow in new Cellulose insulation, which creates a 16 inch barrier between the attic condition and the rest of your home. As you can see in this picture, we install rulers throughout the attic to show our customers just how much of a difference our insulation makes. Nicholas noticed an immediate difference, even in mild temperatures, and can't wait to see how her house performs in the hot and humid summer months ahead.

Attic Air Sealing and Cellulose Insulation

This homeowner had an attic with insufficient air sealing and insulation. That is a bad combination that can lead to air leakage and discomfort in the home. Our crew started by air sealing the attic, this means that we closed any openings or exposures in the attic floor with spray foam and sealed the Ductwork preventing any air leaks or sweating. Now that we have created an airtight seal, it’s time to blow in the Cellulose insulation to complete the job and help the home maintain a comfortable temperature while using less energy, making the home more comfortable and lowering energy costs.

Attic Insulation in Severn, MD

Ronald called Complete Home Solutions for one of our Home Energy Audits after the current tenants of his townhouse had noticed the temperature in the second floor was much different than the temperature on the first floor. The Audit examines multiple factors of your home to determine ways you could keep it more comfortable, as well as helping it run more efficiently. Following the audit our Home Comfort Specialist determined that a big cause of the uncomfortable upstairs temperatures were due to the condition of the attic. On the day of the install our Home Comfort Technicians worked their magic once again, air sealing any cracks in the attic floor, and around any recessed light that would be allowing heat to escape and cold air to make its way in. They then blew in a new layer of Cellulose insulation that would created a barrier in the attic that traps the warm air where it belongs, in the home not the attic. Ronald's tenants noticed an immediate difference in the upstairs temperatures and are now sleeping comfortably.
