Sally was experiencing cold floors in the winter and humidity issues in the summer in her Dunkirk, MD home. Once James arrived, he noticed right away that she had no insulation or vapor barrier in her crawl space. After the diagnosis, we were able to get our Home Comfort Technicians out there to help alleviate her problems and once JB and his crew showed up, they went right to work! They started by removing all the debris from the crawl space and then adding a 20mm thick vapor barrier to block the humidity from rising from the ground. After the vapor barrier is installed, the crew added batt insulation onto the subfloor to make sure Sally's floors stay warm in the winter. 

Sally noticed the difference right away and even inquired about having her attic insulated by us in the future!

Dale reached out to us saying that his upstairs bedroom seemed drafty and made their upstairs feel like it was always a different temperature. Once Jack had been out to complete his inspection, he had realized that Dale had a knee wall in his bedroom that was extra leaky and not well insulated. This would be the cause to his room feeling hotter than others. The way to fix that is to spray foam the knee wall from within the attic to completely seal it and add insulation to the wall. The seal will prevent air from leaking into the attic and the foam will make sure heat doesn't radiate into the room. Alfredo and his crew arrived and spray foamed the knee wall, along with everything else we do to insulate attics. Dale noticed an immediate difference as soon as the spray foam was installed!

We sent one of our Home Comfort Specialists, James, to go and get measurements for her new unit. Once everything came in, we rushed out to get her new unit installed! Our Install Technicians, lead by Damian, showed up and started to take the old unit out and adjusted the ductwork in order to fit the new unit in its place. This homeowner called in stating that they had issues keeping their home at a comfortable temperature and noted that their AC and heat was constantly running. Their energy bills were getting too expensive and needed an expert opinion on how to reduce the costs. After a thorough investigation, James came to the conclusion that the insulation in their crawl space was old and outdated. With that, we got them on the schedule for our Home Comfort Technicians to go out and remedy these issues. JB and his crew arrived and dove straight into the crawl and got to work! First, they removed all of the old batt insulation and then started to install the new CleanSpace vapor barrier. This will help block moisture from rising from the ground and into the home. Finally, we spray foam 2 inches onto the exterior walls, this way, they have the proper R-value of insulation and to ensure that the crawl is air-tight.

After getting in contact with us, we sent our Home Comfort Specialist, Jonathan, to get the ball rolling on the project. While there, Jonathan went and investigated the crawl and recommended that they get a full crawlspace encapsulation to make the crawl a conditioned space and help with the cold air rising from their crawlspace. The next step was getting our Home Comfort Technicians into the crawl and begin working. They started with removing the old batt insulation, as it will no longer be needed by the time we finish the job. Then, the crew added a vapor barrier to keep the moisture from the ground outside of the homeowner's crawl. The next step was to install a brand-new dehumidifier to maintain a 50% humidity level. The final step was to install spray foam on the walls of the crawlspace with 2 inches of foam on the walls and 3 inches of foam on the rim joist and band board. 

The homeowner immediately felt a difference and loved the outcome!
