Discolored insulation like you see in this picture is a sign of poor energy efficiency in a home. Air is not being stopped from leaking through the attic and is filtering right through, all year long. This costs the homeowner in terms of utility bills, comfort, and health. How did we fix this? We had to take out that old, dirty insulation, air seal the attic, and blow in some nice and dense cellulose insulation. This creates a great thermal barrier for the home and will ultimately make it much more comfortable and affordable!
This home had very old insulation in the attic (and no air sealing). That's why it comes as no surprise that the homeowner suffered through such extreme temperature differences throughout the house. Summers and winters were especially brutal! CHS was able to make some upgrades that would resolve these problems.
We had to remove the old insulation (you can see how worn it was from the extreme discoloration in the picture), caulk all the floor boards and joists, and apply blown-in cellulose insulation. The end result is a much more comfortable house that is costing the owner less.
The homeowners of this house in Prince Frederick, Maryland wanted to fix their attic insulation. Knowing that poorly insulated attic spaces makes a home less energy efficient. The homeowners called Complete Home Solutions and our Production Team removed the insufficient insulation and replaced it with Dr. Energy Saver's recommended levels of blow-in cellulose insulation.
Here in Prince Frederick, Maryland we have a homeowner who was plagued by cold winter air slipping in and chilling up her house. She was annoyed with having to constantly change the thermostat and blast the space heater. Luckily, Complete Home Solutions was able to put an end to that.
An energy audit revealed that the attic played a major role in this home's discomfort! As home performance experts, our production staff knew how to correct the attic to perform at an optimum level. We air sealed all attic penetrations, installed blown-in cellulose insulation, and insulated the attic hatch opening. Now, our homeowner will be nice and toasty for the winter!
This home in Saint Leonard, Maryland had an attic that needed some serious TLC. It was not properly air sealed and the insulation that was up there was not doing its job. Luckily, the homeowner knew who to call to get the job done.
Complete Home Solutions gave an energy audit to figure out what needed to be done to upgrade this attic. We first needed to take out all of the old insulation to make way for updates. We then were able to apply air sealing to the attic and add in new blown-in cellulose insulation. Now the attic is able to provide the homeowner with a comfortable home!
