Spray Foam Insulation Photo Album: Cantilever in Upper Marlboro, MD

Brandon called us and said that he had a house built in 1982 and is incredibly drafty along with cold floors in his bedroom upstairs. After a walk through with Jack, our Home Comfort Specialist, it was found that his cantilever was insulated, but needed better insulation. It was recommended that we remove that and spray foam the cantilever which will not only insulate, but seal every crack and crevice within. Follow along as we go step by step in sealing and insulating this cantilever.

The Before

When the crews arrived, this is how the cantilever looks. In order to access the cantilever, we need to remove the vinyl siding.

Prep Work

With the siding removed and the cantilever accessed, we prep the area by using plastic to cover the siding of the house so that we can keep the siding clean.

Insulation Removed and Cantilever Blocked

With the insulation removed, the next step is to block off each bay so that we can spray and seal every area that would be exposed to the outside air.
