Old Insulation and Vapor Barrier
Much of the vapor barrier is ripped up and not doing anything to help their home. Couple that with the insulation improperly hung, everything in this crawl must be removed.
Removal Aftermath
Now that we are working with a clean slate, it will be easier to install the new vapor barrier!
CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
The CleanSpace vapor barrier that we install is 20 millimeters thick, this is to help make sure that it will not rip, scratch, or tear. This barrier will not end up like their last one with holes riddled all throughout the crawl.
Spray Foamed
With the walls bare and insulation removed, the best way to insulate your crawl is to spray foam the walls. This finalizes the encapsulation by keeping the inside of the crawl separate from the outside air temperature. Essentially, the crawlspace will be closer in temperature to the inside of your house than whatever the outside air is. It also ensures that moisture won't seep into the walls and enter your crawl by that route.
Crawl Door
We install a brand new crawl door that uses anchors and weatherstrip to give it a secure seal so that no air moves into the crawl. A job well done!
