Before We Got Started
As you can see the insulation has seen better days, and with no vapor barrier, spray foam insulation on the walls, or dehumidifier, this crawls space was in rough shape.
Insulation Removal
With most of the insulation hanging from the floor, our Home Comfort Technicians removed it and created an open area to move and begin work.
Installing the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier
Next, our Technicians install the 20mm thick vapor barrier. The vapor barrier is virtually indestructible and bolted to the wall, which prevents moisture, bugs, or critters from getting into your crawl space or home.
Time to Spray Foam
Our crew then sprays our 2 part closed cell spray foam on all the exterior walls. This creates a fully insulated area under your home that helps to keep out external, humidity, moisture, and temperatures.
Installing the Dehumidifier
The final step of our encapsulation is installing a dehumidifier. While all the steps up to this are crucial in the crawl space encapsulation, installing the dehumidifier regulates the humidity in the crawl space to a consistent and comfortable 50-55% humidity.
