Crawl Space Nightmare in Churchton, MD

This homeowner in Churchton was facing several issues to the sub flooring of his home, including several spots where he and his family had stepped through the floor. While Complete Home Solutions could not assist in the repair of any structural damage, we were able to help with making sure the humidity and moisture problems which caused the original problem didn't return.
Solution
This home was in a neighborhood that deals with moisture and humidity year round. with a crawl space that was not properly insulated, sealed, or equipped to handle humidity, the constant moisture in the air had begun to be absorbed by the sub flooring and floored joist. The solution to this homeowners problem was to fully encapsulate the crawl space and install a dehumidifier that would keep the the humidity at a consistent 50-55% as well as keeping any standing water out of the crawl space.
The first step of the project was to install our 20mm thick CleanSpace vapor barrier which we bolt to the wall of the crawl space. This particular vapor barrier has a life time warranty, and is virtually tear proof. By bolting it to the wall it ensure that no water or critters can enter the crawl space from the ground up. The second phase of this project was to use our Silverglo insulation board to cover all of the vents in the crawl space vents. By covering the vents we ensure that humid air is not able to make its way under your home. Our final step in this process is to install a brand new humidifier which ensures the humidity remains at an ideal 50-55% year round.
