Julia and her family purchased their Churchton, MD home. After another winter of uneven temperatures in their home, Julia called Complete Home Solutions to asses the reason for the uncomfortable and inconsistent temperatures. Following a visit from one of our trained Home Comfort Specialist, the main area of concern pointed to the attic of the home, which was not properly air sealed or insulated. On the day of the installation, our Home Comfort Technicians removed the old batt insulation before using our 2 part closed cell spray foam to seal the ductwork. They then air sealed any top plates recessed lights, and outlet covers to prevent conditioned air from escaping the home. The final step was to blow in new Cellulose insulation in the attic to properly insulate the area to current standards.

Before We Got Started
This is the scene from our first look as this attic. As you can see there is not much insulation to speak of, including spots that are completely bare. This is a major red flag to our Home Comfort Specialist.
Let's Remove Some Insulation
Our first step is to remove the old batt insulation from the attic. By removing the old insulation it allows our Home Comfort Technicians to properly examine the area for any areas of concern. It also allows a clean area to air seal.
Attention to Detail
The next step our Technicians take is to install baffles along the eaves of the home. This serves two main purposes, the first is too allow to adequate air flow into the attic over top of the new insulation. The second purpose of the baffles is to allow our crew to blow 16in to ever corner of your attic, not just the center.
