Before We Got Started
This homes attic had no insulation when we got started, this was leaving only drywall to be the barrier between outside air and conditioned air inside the home.
Time to Air Seal
The first step our Technicians take is to air seal and cracks in the floor of the attic with our fire block foam. This includes putting cover any recessed light, which are a big area that air can escape your home.
Spray Foam of The Duct Work
With this home having metal duct work in the attic, our recommendation was to apply spray foam to cover the outside. This keeps he ducts from leaking any air and prevents and major duct sweating problems.
Roof Boots
Another important step we take is ensuring that any bath fans in your home are properly vented out of your attic. When venting through the roof, we use roof boots to properly cover the the vent hole. Our roof boots also prevent water from entering, and critters from nesting.
Blown in Cellulose
Our final step is blowing in 16inches of new Cellulose Insulation into the attic. This properly insulated the home and keeps the conditioned air you pay for, where it belongs, in your home. The homeowner noticed an immediate difference in the temperature of her home and is resting comfortably!
